The Commission focuses on the registration of companies and intellectual property.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs is mandated to oversee the socio-economic transformation in the province. It therefore leads the policy and strategic initiatives directed at promoting development and growth in various sectors of the economy. However, to achieve its objectives, the Department has to co-operate with various stakeholders and social partners that include the private sector and civil society. National and provincial legislative, policy and strategic frameworks guide the operations of the Department.

DEPARTMENT: TRADE & INDUSTRY
The vision of the DTI is to be a dynamic industrial, globally competitive South African economy, characterised by inclusive growth and development, decent employment and equity, built on the full potential of all citizens.

ESKOM 
Eskom generates, transmits and distributes electricity to industrial, mining, commercial, agricultural and residential customers and redistributors.

Productivity SA is established in terms of section 31 (1) of the Employment services Act, No. 4 of 2014 as a juristic person with a mandate to promote employment growth and productivity thereby contributing to South Africa’s socio economic development and competitiveness.

Proudly South African seeks to strongly influence procurement in public and private sectors, to increase local production, influence consumers to buy local and stimulate job creation. This is in line with government’s plans to revive South Africa’s economy so that millions of jobs can be created and unemployment can be decreased under the New Growth Path Plan.

SEDA
The Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) is an agency of the South African Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). Seda was established in December 2004, through the National Small Business Amendment Act, Act 29 of 2004. It is mandated to implement government’s small business strategy; design and implement a standard and common national delivery network for small enterprise development; and integrate government-funded small enterprise support agencies across all tiers of government.

TRADE & INVESTMENT KWAZULU-NATAL
Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal is a South African trade and inward investment promotion agency, established to promote the province of KwaZulu-Natal as an investment destination and to facilitate trade by assisting local companies to access international markets.
