ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Francois has 22 years experience in international trade operations, focusing on exports from South Africa to various African destinations. He has previously been a trade and industry advisor at the DTI and a director of International Trading Connection (ITC). Currently he is the Export Development Manager at Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN).
Due to the broad exposure to the export function, Francois’ skills lie in the documentary and procedural functions that apply to the international movement of goods. Due to his period of employment at the DTI, Francois also has a good functional knowledge of export incentives and manufacturing rebates applicable in South Africa.
Francois joined Trade & Investment KZN in 2006 and his current responsibilities include assisting KZN traders to find export markets for their wide range of products. Francois actively liaises with colleagues from the DTI and DFA in finding importers/distributors for the full range of locally-produced products and regularly conducts training and capacity-building programs in the province.
