IMPLEMENTING A SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Implementation and facilitation course provides you with a more in depth level of knowledge on the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. This course can be a follow on to the Awareness Training course.

The Implementation course is designed for personnel who are responsible for developing and implementing a safety and health management system. Practical application of the standard requirements provides the participant with in depth knowledge regarding the development, implementation and maintenance of the management system requirements.

The course will prepare you to understand the requirements for auditing preparation as well as the importance of Safety & Health Management as a risk management tool. It demonstrates how safety and health management contributes positively to the daily business operations through the effective management of the safety and welfare of personnel.

This course provides an understanding of the alignment of the various clauses with legal and other requirements.

OUTCOME:
With the successful completion of this course the participant will be able to:
• Apply the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 as a management tool
• Understand the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007
• Develop documentation required by the standard and the organisation
• Develop a thorough understanding of the interaction of the various processes as determined by the organisation and the standard.
• Evaluate system requirements through the application of standard elements for continual improvement
• Work with the processes for implementing the OHS processes
• Provide input for the review of the OHSAS System
