ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Allan Conolly is the CEO of Somta Tools (Pvt) Ltd, a position he has held since 2004. The company employs 350 people, is one of the largest cutting tool company’s in the Southern Hemisphere, and exports its tools to over 70 countries worldwide. The company’s tools are used at end users such as Airbus, BMW, and Boeing sub component manufacturers.
Somta Tools was the recipient of the PCB Business of the Year award in 2007 and 2011. The company has also won several different accolades from Productivity SA and KZN Top Business, under the exporter category. Allan is passionate about developing world class manufacturing capabilities in South Africa and adding value to the natural resources exported from the country in its raw form, in order that it may benefit the lives of South Africans.
