IDC Presentation: RE Generation Project to Accommodate SMME Off-takers

The IDC invites you to a Microsoft Teams engagement regarding a model that they are developing for funding and implementing a Renewable Energy (RE) Generation Project (“NESCOM”) that will contract with multiple off-takers (“Portfolio Offtake Model”). Large Corporate and Industrial (C&I) entities have the ability to procure on a competitive basis and are able to conclude long-term offtakes (Power Purchase Agreement) that, in turn, enable long tenor debt which is required for competitive tariffs. Smaller companies with small and medium-sized (1-30MW) requirements are generally not able to procure RE via a competitive process – this model seeks to address this.
